"Thank you for the confidence" – Why Dog Training Is Actually About You by Anna Hope
Thank you for the confidence you have given me xx"
I received this email from a lovely client recently, and I had to take a screenshot. It completely made my day, but more importantly, it perfectly sums up exactly why I do what I do.
Here is a little secret about being a dog trainer: quite a lot of the time, my first job isn't actually fixing the dog.
It’s fixing the human at the other end of the lead.
When you are struggling with a dog that pulls like a tractor or has a meltdown every time the doorbell rings, your confidence takes a massive hit.
You start to dread walks.
You feel embarrassed.
You might even feel like you are completely failing.
My goal is to give you that confidence back, and here is exactly how we do it.
Why I Focus on the Human First
You can have the smartest dog in Warwickshire, but if you are feeling panicked, overwhelmed, or frustrated, your dog will pick up on that tension instantly.
This is why my 1-to-1 coaching is entirely tailored to you and your specific lifestyle.
We don't just drill basic obedience commands in a sterile environment; we look at the real-world messy stuff.
I want to empower you to know exactly what to do when things go wrong.
Because giving you the tools, the timing, and the understanding means that long after our session finishes, you have the skills to keep the progress going.
It is about getting you lasting results, not just a quick fix while the trainer is standing there with a pocket full of sausages.
Your Personal Dog-Owning Cheerleader
Dog training can feel incredibly lonely when things aren't going to plan.
You need someone in your corner who gets it.
Someone who understands that the reality of owning a dog isn't always perfectly posed Instagram photos—sometimes it’s literally tripping over your dog on the way to the bathroom at 3 AM.
I am there to be your cheerleader.
I am there to tell you that you aren't failing, that setbacks are normal, and to celebrate the tiny wins that nobody else notices (like your dog actually looking at you instead of chasing a leaf!).
The "Easy Life" Monthly Support Programme
This exact need for ongoing, real-world support is why I created my Monthly Support Programmes.
When you join a monthly programme, you get our focused 1-to-1 sessions to build the practical skills, but the real magic happens between those sessions. You get full, direct WhatsApp support with me.
